Terms and Conditions
Last updated: September 16, 2026
These terms and conditions cover this website and the radon testing, radon system installation, fan replacement, and system repair work performed by RM York, 54 W Market St, York, PA 17401. Your signed quote or work authorization can add terms for your property. When the two disagree, the signed document controls that job.
1. What the website content is
Guides, FAQs, pricing ranges, and tips on this site are general information. They are not a radon measurement, medical advice, structural advice, or a promise of results. Radon levels change with the foundation, soil, weather, season, ventilation, and how the home is used. Only a radon test, a site assessment, and an approved written scope set the actual work.
2. Radon tests, assessments, and quotes
Radon test results depend on test conditions, including closed-house conditions and leaving the monitor undisturbed. An assessment covers the areas we can safely reach on the day of the visit. Finished walls and ceilings, blocked crawl spaces, and inaccessible attics limit what we can see. Every quote carries its own expiration date, assumptions, exclusions, and change order process.
3. What we need from you
- Give us accurate contact and property details and share existing radon test results.
- Arrange legal access plus any owner, tenant, HOA, or manager approval.
- Tell us about pets, sensitive occupants, known hazards, and prior radon systems.
- Keep closed-house conditions during testing and follow the preparation instructions.
- Keep the radon fan powered and the sump lid sealed after installation.
4. Scheduling and changes
Arrival windows shift with traffic, weather, roof safety, and the job before yours. Give us reasonable notice to reschedule. Charges for late cancellation, missed access, specialty equipment, or a return trip apply only when the quote or service agreement listed them first.
5. System design and installation
Suction point locations, fan selection, pipe route, and discharge point are based on the assessment and communication testing and are agreed in writing. Site conditions discovered during installation, such as poor sub-slab communication, hidden obstructions, or electrical problems, may require a change order that you approve before we continue.
6. Payment
Prices, deposits, payment methods, and due dates appear in the approved service document. Undisputed balances are due as written there. Work outside the agreed scope needs your approval before we bill it.
7. Guarantees and limits
A radon reduction guarantee exists only when it is in writing. It applies to the listed system, the stated period, the named property, and the conditions written into the agreement, such as keeping the fan running and the system unaltered. Radon fans carry their own manufacturer warranty.
No radon contractor can guarantee a specific radon level in every condition, forever. Renovations, new additions, foundation changes, disconnected fans, and opened seals can all affect results. What we owe you is the work and remedies written into your agreement, subject to applicable law.
8. Property conditions and other trades
Existing wear, hidden defects, water intrusion, damaged wiring, roof defects, and structural issues can call for an electrician, plumber, roofer, waterproofing contractor, engineer, or another licensed professional. We are not responsible for conditions outside the approved radon scope.
9. Website ownership and outside links
The original text, illustrations, layout, and brand materials on this site belong to or are licensed by RM York. You may read them for personal use. Do not republish them as another company's content. Outside links are references only, and each destination runs under its own terms.
10. Liability and disputes
To the extent state law allows, the liability tied to any service is limited by your signed agreement and by applicable law. Before you file a formal claim, contact us with the property address, the service date, the problem, and the fix you want. That gives us a fair chance to inspect and respond.
11. Governing law
Pennsylvania law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of this page cannot be enforced, that part is narrowed as far as needed and the rest remains in force.
