Accessibility Statement

Last updated: September 16, 2026

We want every visitor to reach the same radon information, whatever tools they browse with. This page sets out the standard we build against, what is already in place, where we fall short, and how to tell us when something blocks you.

1. The standard we aim for

We build this site toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (opens in a new tab) at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Level AA is the benchmark referenced by most public bodies and by guidance under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We treat it as an ongoing target rather than a box we have ticked once.

2. What is built into these pages

  • Semantic headings run in order on every page, so screen readers can skim the structure.
  • A skip link jumps past the header straight to the main content.
  • Every image carries alt text that describes the radon equipment or building shown.
  • Body text meets the 4.5 to 1 contrast ratio against its background, and large headings meet 3 to 1.
  • Menus, dropdowns and the FAQ accordion work with a keyboard and report their state to assistive tech.
  • Focus outlines stay visible, so keyboard users can see where they are.
  • Form fields carry real labels, and errors are announced rather than shown by color alone.
  • Text reflows down to 320 pixels wide and survives zooming to 200 percent.
  • Phone numbers and email addresses are live links, usable without typing them out.

3. Known limits

Three gaps remain, and we are working on each.

  • Photographs supplied by customers may carry shorter alt text than we would write ourselves.
  • Embedded third-party content, such as map frames, follows the accessibility of the provider rather than ours.
  • Documents shared during a job, including radon lab reports, arrive in the format the laboratory issues. Ask us to read the result to you over the phone.

4. Getting radon information another way

No website suits everyone. Call (717) 275-0074 during listed hours and we will walk you through booking an estimate by voice. Email info@radonmitigationyorkpa.us if writing suits you better. We can take an estimate request entirely over the phone, so nobody has to use the estimate form. Every page is also listed on our sitemap if the menus are hard to use.

5. Telling us about a problem

Report anything on this site that blocks you, and include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. That detail lets us reproduce the fault quickly. Send it to info@radonmitigationyorkpa.us or call (717) 275-0074.

We aim to reply within 5 business days, and we will tell you what we found and when the fix will land. Report a barrier even when you are not a customer. The report still helps.

6. How we test

Pages are checked with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, and automated contrast and structure tools during development. Automated checks miss plenty, which is why reports from real visitors carry more weight than any score.

7. Updates to this statement

We revise this page whenever the site changes in a way that affects access, and whenever a reported barrier is fixed. The date at the top marks the current version.

8. Contact

Send accessibility questions to info@radonmitigationyorkpa.us or call (717) 275-0074. Written mail reaches us at Radon Mitigation York, 805 E Prospect St, York, PA 17403.
