What We Are Hiring For

We do not keep a standing list of vacancies on this page. Call or email to ask what is open right now, and we will tell you straight.

Email your resume to info@radonmitigationyorkpa.us with the role you are after in the subject line, or call (717) 275-0074. Tell us what you have worked on. A short note beats a long resume. Read about our team first if you want to know how we work.

The four roles

Roles on a Radon Crew

These are the jobs that exist in this trade. Tell us which one fits you, and say so even if you only match part of it.

01

Radon Mitigation Technician

Core the slab, dig the suction pit, run sealed PVC, mount the fan and label the system. You read the communication test and decide where suction lands. PA DEP mitigation certification required, or held within your first year.

02

Radon Measurement Technician

Place and collect continuous monitors, record closed-house conditions, pull the hourly data and walk homeowners through the average. PA DEP measurement certification required, or held within your first year.

03

Installer Helper

The way most people start. You carry pipe, cut and dry-fit, seal cracks, keep the work area clean and learn the system from the slab up. No certification needed on day one.

04

Scheduling Coordinator

Answer the phone, book tests and installs around inspection deadlines, chase permits with the township, and keep test reports and warranty paperwork straight.

Before you apply

What the Work Asks of You

  • A valid Pennsylvania driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Comfort working in basements, crawl spaces, attics, and on ladders.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and handle a hammer drill overhead.
  • Basic hand and power tool skill, or the willingness to learn it properly.
  • Clear communication with homeowners standing next to you asking questions.
  • Respect for someone else's house: drop cloths down, vacuum running, boots off.

Why this crew

What You Get Back

Local work, home every night

Every job sits inside York. No overnight travel, no three-hour drives to a jobsite.

One trade, learned properly

Radon is all we do. You learn sub-slab depressurization deeply instead of half a dozen trades shallowly.

A path to DEP certification

Pennsylvania requires DEP certification under 25 Pa. Code § 240 to test or mitigate for hire. We will talk through that path at interview.

Work built to standard

Every system follows DEP rules and ANSI/AARST standards. Nobody here is asked to cut a corner to finish early.

Pennsylvania rules

DEP Certification, Explained Plainly

Radon work in Pennsylvania is regulated, and that shapes how a career here starts.

Pennsylvania passed its Radon Certification Act in 1987. Anyone who tests, mitigates or runs laboratory analysis for radon on behalf of others has to hold radon certification from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) (opens in a new tab). Chapter 240 of 25 Pa. Code sets the rules behind it, and the DEP Bureau of Radiation Protection keeps the directory of certified individuals and firms.

That means a technician on this crew is certified, or is working toward it with a certified technician alongside them. It also means an uncertified helper can absolutely start here, working alongside the crew on radon testing and radon system installation jobs. Plenty of good mitigators began by carrying pipe.

Certification is held by you as an individual, not just by the company you work for. Earn it and it travels with you for the rest of your career in this trade.

How we hire

Equal Opportunity

We consider every applicant on the work they can do and the care they take doing it. We do not screen on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by federal or Pennsylvania law. Ask us for a reasonable adjustment at any point in the process and we will sort it out with you.
